Fred enters the nest . . .
and offers Fantail some food.
Today we start by watching Fantail and Fred again as the light in their nest box is better that Fluffy's in the morning. Here is another example of Fred's tender loving care!
Fred first enters the nest with some food in the normal way. He appears to pass it to Fantail within a second or so as usual, but instead of departing at that point, he stays there, periodically touching beaks with Fantail. In this sequence (from which we only show some highlights) their beaks touched a total of nine times, each time followed by a brief separation, before Fred finally turned and left.
