There are a couple of mileposts that the chicks are now reaching. The first is that they start cheeping and the second is that their eyes open. So far only Fluffy's chicks are cheeping strongly, although we fancied we heard one of Fantail's chicks making cheeping sounds today. Now we have a picture of one of Fluffy's chicks with an eye open. Soon they will be able to do more that stick their open beaks as high as possible to attract food. (The picture is dark because a bird was on its way out.)
The chick on the left clearly has an eye open!
