Here is Fluffy sitting in the nest box hole looking out.
In another interesting sequence, we caught Barney feeding Fluffy at the nest box hole. Perhaps she was on the way out when he arrived with food. Certainly, she left the box after being fed.
Barney arrives with his food item. You can see Fluffy with her beak open to receive it!
Barney lands and feeds her ....
.... and immediately Barney flies away ....
.... shortly followed by Fluffy.
Barney has been very busy today. Looking at the record of his visits, he fed Fluffy 24 times between 10 o'clock and twenty past one. That's about once every 8 minutes!
His feeding occurs in batches of 4 to 6 feeds separated by a gap of 10 to 30 minutes when Fluffy leaves the nest for a period. Let's hope Fluffy manages to keep her partner this year!
