Here's Barney coming into land on the nest box hole.  You can see from his posture - he is leaning well back - that he is not intending to go straight into the box.

And here he is about a third of a second later!  His claws grip the edge of the nest box hole and he uses his tail to brace himself away from the box.

The best pictures are to be taken first thing in the morning when the sun is shining.  The light rakes across the box and the birds are at their most active.  Perhaps there is a moral here - we should get up earlier in the morning!

This time it's Fluffy's turn.  She has been perched on the hole of the box for a short while and decides to go.

She's off!  The light is not as good today, but nevertheless the camera catches quite a good image.
