Bluetit Diary    Feb 2004 (23)

Friday 27th February (part3)

These pictures show Barney in his typical 'Come on, Fluffy! Where are you?' position.  He holds on to the lip of the hole with his right claw while bracing himself with his left leg so that he can look about him.  Finally, he gives up and flies away (in exasperation?).

Barney is inside so the bird on the right isn't him.  Again, this bird is far too neat and tidy, even from this angle, to be Fluffy.  So who is it and what is it doing here?

There is another bluetit couple that we often see in the hedge outside our kitchen window only about 12 metres from the nest box.  Perhaps this bird was one of them?

Our new friend departs after about 10 seconds and Barney himself leaves the box 14 seconds later.  But where is Fluffy?
