Bluetit Diary    Feb 2005 (2)

Tuesday 8th February, 2005

There has been plenty of action outside our newly positioned box today.  Like last year when it was moved, directly it was put back up, the birds seem to get very interested.

Just to show you that we have had a visitor, here is a picture of it leaving the nest box!

You can see from the time stamp, it was fairly early in the morning too.

Here are some morning acrobatics.  The bluetit has been perched on the roof and flies down to land on the entrance hole.

This time the camera has caught him flying away from the nest box.

Another visit....

...and another departure.

Although the weather was overcast again today, these images are better than none.  However, the background of the ivy leaves makes it sometimes difficult to get a good picture and when it is windy, their movement will produce thousands of pictures each day.

Unfortunately, masking off the leaves will also prevent the camera from taking pictures of our birds flying in that area.  Perhaps I will experiment again with turning the box a bit more towards the camera.
