There is no progress to report about our leaning tree.

I had been hoping that we could wait until it came down before putting the nest box up in its new home as the cables will run very near to where the tree work will be taking place and I would hate them to be damaged.  However, time is passing and now it is almost February, I think I shall have to put the nest box up and leave it unconnected until its old home comes down..

We are still getting only one or two visits each day to Box1.  We are able to monitor this as usual as this is not affected by all the fuss with Box2.

This bird has a broad white head band so I believe it is a male.

However, when another bird comes to the entrance hole, you can just make out the outside bird's beak, the one inside crouches down.  Is this a male's behaviour in these circumstances?

We quite often notice a pair of birds flying in the vicinity of Box1, so we hope that the bird outside is the partner of the one inside.
