Today Babe has surprised us! Her eggs have hatched out - and to make matters worse, I forgot to start Console before going to bed last night so that we do not have a record of this event!
I eventually realised that i-Catcher Console was not running when I looked to see what had happened early this morning - and that was just before 8 o'clock
This is the first image of the chicks that we have - of the five eggs, four have hatched and one still remains intact.
Babe is on the way out to feed herself - and her new charges.
She's back 20 seconds later with the usual little green caterpillar!
In spite of having only just hatched out, the chicks seem quite lively - livelier than we remember Kelly's chicks to have been at this stage.

Ferdinand has not yet started arguing with Babe about who should feed the chicks. If Babe is in the nest box, he calmly passes his food to her so that she can feed them.
This is another occasion when he has passed his food to Babe. She has already got off the nest to feed the chicks.
