Bluetit Diary    Apr 2007 (18)

Wednesday 18th April, 2007

No more eggs from Greta - she has clearly completed her clutch - but another egg for Fay and possibly for Abby.

Greta has now been incubating for a couple of days, so this morning was the last possible day on which she could lay another egg.

Clearly she didn't and we must assume her clutch will remain at 6 eggs.

Fay now has 6 eggs.  So far she has regularly laid one egg each day since she laid her first egg on 13th April.  Although in this shot the eggs look much browner than Greta's or Abby's eggs, I think this is a trick of the lighting.

How many more to come do you think?

Abby has been keeping her eggs well hidden.  This is a better view than most of the pictures we have of the empty nest.  You can clearly see 4 eggs, the same number as yesterday.  If she laid one this morning, she should have 5!
