Gelda has laid another egg this morning, bring her clutch size to 5.
Sally shows no sign of stopping. This morning she laid egg number 9.
Phil is doing his bit too. Here he is about to feed Gelda.
Joe is playing his part as well.
Gelda is starting to spend a fair amount of time in the box during the day.
Another feed for Sally ...
... and another. If Joe can keep this up, they should have no problem rearing their chicks!
Perhaps this is the start of Sally's incubation. She has been sitting on the eggs much longer than normal today. She will probably lay her last egg tomorrow morning and then settle down to the job properly.
Gelda also looks as though she has started to incubate her eggs, even though she only has 5. So far, our great tit mums have laid either 5 or 6 eggs in their clutches. So whether or not she lays a last egg tomorrow morning, if she stops then she will just be doing what great tits here seem to do.
