Another visit to Box3 by a bluetit.
A bluetit went into Box3 today for the first time since it was moved!
He's still a bit wary though - perhaps he doesn't like being on TV?
Here he is a couple of hours later - back for another look.
Ooh! He's not going inside is he?
It certainly looks like it!
There's not much doubt now!!
Yes! This is the first bird inside Box3 since I moved it to its present location. It's supposed to be more sheltered from the afternoon sun where it is now. I only hope it will be in May, when it matters!
He still looks rather nervous - not surprising I suppose.
Last year, I pointed the camera at too low a point in the nest box. That was fine when it was empty but by the time there was a 2 inch layer of nesting material, you could hardly see the bird for moss. This year the problem is that with an empty nest box, you cannot see the bird's feet!
He seems to be taking his time and having a good look around him ...
... and a look outside ...
... before leaving!
Let's hope that's the first of many visits.
