Bluetit Diary    Feb 2010 (8)

Saturday 27th February (part2)

However, it didn't stay long!  In less than a second it was off again.  It clearly couldn't stand the fuss!  The original bird has still apparently not moved a millimetre!

Off it goes!

Or does it ... ?

... another turn ...

... and it starts to go in again.  What on earth is going on here?

But it's still not welcome.  The bird inside might as well be rooted to the floor of the box.  It hasn't moved in the last minute and a half.

So another high speed turn ...

... and after a few seconds, it's on the outside of the box again.

This bird is clearly a glutton for punishment.  I think its still hoping to go into the box!

However, it's clearly still not welcome so it flies off.

Thirty seconds later, the bird in the box is clearly more relaxed.

A minute later, it feels bold enough to take a look outside ...

... and leaves.

Or does it?  These birds seem totally unable to make up their minds!

Come on now, make your mind up!

After another 30 seconds, it's off!

Or is it?  This shot was taken a few milliseconds after the one above.  Is it the same bird having gone into reverse. or is it another one?

I don't know how they tell one from another - they all look the same to me!

Anyway, it didn't stay.
