Bluetit Diary    Mar 2010 (2)

Monday 1st March (part2)

Box3 is getting a fair amount of attention today too.

It's just after 10 o'clock and here we have a bluetit inspecting Box3.

Directly he goes in the box, he jumps up on the ledge below the side mounted camera.

He seems to be having a good look, but quite what he is looking at is a bit of a mystery.

He is still there half a minute later.

Back on the floor of the box.

Time to go?  So far he has been in the box for about a minute.

No, apparently not yet!

Back on the exit hole again - but again he didn't fly off.

For a minute I wondered whether this was a nesting wriggle - and in which case I should have been referring to this bird as a she rather than a he!  However, when looking at some of the other pictures taken by the system around this shot, he was fluttering around all over the place and this shot is one of many - and not a nesting wriggle!

So it's probably a male after all!

Is he going this time?

Yes - here he is on his way.
