Amy has laid an egg!
I suppose it is possible that this was laid earlier, but I doubt it. It has been visible several times during the day but we have never seen more than the one egg. It was almost certainly laid this morning.
Today we have an egg!

A while later, Amy was in the box when she heard Joe coming.
He comes into the box and Amy not unreasonably expects he will have brought her something to eat.
She leans forward to take it ...
... but it is either so small that we cannot see it, or it doesn't exist!
Amy leaves immediately, leaving Joe in the nest box.
A similar thing happens much later in the day.
The time is after half past seven and Amy is settling down for the night.
Suddenly she hears Joe coming to the box.
In comes Joe - but what on earth is he bringing her? It looks like a beakful of fine dead grass ...
... which he proceeds to drop onto her.
Amy is still begging like mad ...
... but Joe hasn't got anything else so he turns and leaves the box.
Poor Amy!
Still, she settles down again and very soon is tucked up for the night.
