Suddenly a day later the nest appears to be finished - the floor is fully covered, a nest cup has been formed and is finished with a collection of downy feathers that Sally has found somewhere.
When really pushed, a tit can complete a nest from scratch in two or three days! This happened in one of our boxes in 2005 when a desperate pair of great tits occupied Box1. Their nest was completed from nothing in three days!
