Friday 17th April, 2015

Hold on - what's going on here?  Clearly today there are 4 eggs in Box2 whereas I am pretty sure that yesterday there were only 2.

Are both Rosie and Suzie laying?

Although the bird in the nest cup is asking for food, I am pretty sure that the other bird is the other female!

Judging by their head feathers, the bird in the nest cup is Suzie and the other bird is Rosie.

Although the nests in Box1 and Box3 were apparently completed a few days ago, there hasn't seemed to be any progress with egg laying.  Whether this is because nothing is happening, or the females are just too good at covering their eggs, I don't know.

However, at last there is clearly an egg in Box3!  We shall have to watch this box more closely now.

Saturday 18th April, 2015

Clearly, today there are at least 6 eggs.

Both Suzie and Rosie must have started laying eggs at the same time and both must be continuing to lay every day!

Sunday 19th April, 2015

Yup!  Another day and two more eggs, making 8 so far.

Monday 20th April, 2015

Is this 9 or 10 eggs?  If it is 9 then one of the females has missed a day.  However, with so many feathers in the nest box it is easy to miss the odd egg!

It is now three days since we first saw an egg in Box3 and this is the first sight of eggs since.  There is clearly more than one egg here but I can't see how many there are in total.

Tuesday 21st April, 2015

It must have been 10 eggs yesterday as I am pretty sure that there are 12 eggs here!

In Box3, Sally has given us another glimpse of her eggs.  How many she has laid in total is anybody's guess!

Sally is now roosting in Box3 overnight.
