At last - an egg in Box2!
But was it laid by Spikey or by Bess? We probably won't find out for some time. Since they both visit fairly often each day one cannot take the presence of a female fussing over the egg as proof that that bird laid it!

So what's the state of affairs in our other two boxes?
This is Box1 where things still seem to moving very slowly forward. The bottom of the nest box is still not covered, but at least a female appears to be regularly visiting the box - and sometimes, like this time, she brings in more nesting material.
This is the state of play in Box1 at the end of the day.
In Box3, there has still been no progress. Moreover, it is getting rather late in the season to expect anything to happen here this year.
