The entries for the next few days  will be brief as until egg laying starts, not a lot happens!

Daisy in Box2 has more or less finished her nest.  She has finished it off by finding and bringing in some feathers, most of which appear to be white, but here she is with a beak full of hay.

Chloe in Box1 is not far behind.  However she has yet to finish off the nest with a few feathers.

This shows a better view of the feathers in Daisy's nest box.

At the end of the day, Chloe's nest looks no different.  It still needs a few feathers to complete it.

Wednesday 8th April, 2020

Chloe is clearly anticipating Chris coming into the box with some food for her.

And here he is!

It is now nearly 9pm and there is no sign of Daisy roosting in the box tonight.  She therefore wont be laying an egg in the morning.

Thursday 9th April, 2020

At the start of the day, you can see that Chloe has still not found any feathers - or more likely, she hasn't got around to finding them yet!

Feathers!  It is now the late afternoon, and clearly Chloe has been busy today.  As well as some white feathers, she seems to have found some black ones which she has unfortunately left in the nest cup.  I say unfortunately because it will make our task of monitoring her egg laying more difficult!

At the end of the day, there are a few more feathers.  I think her nest is as prepared as it can be for the start of egg laying.

Daisy's nest in Box2 is also looking good.

Both nests are ready.  Who will lay the first egg - and will we be able to see it!
