Another bird is having a look at Box2. I don't think it is the same one as last time.

In it goes!

This bird looks very different from the one we saw at this box on January 3rd. It looks quite old.  It is very like one of the pairs of females that used this box in 2016! ( I don't really think it is the same bird - it's just another old one!)

Talking of old birds, I read recently of a record breaking albatross that had just had another chick at the age of 70!  It was ringed in 1956 and they have been keeping track of it all this time.  Albatrosses lay one egg every two years, and this one has laid over 35 of them. It has outlived mating partners and the ornithologist who first ringed her.  Amazing!  See https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/mar/05/wisdom-the-albatross-the-worlds-oldest-known-wild-bird-has-another-chick-at-age-70

This is an old, careworn bird. Its feathers are ruffled and have flecks of white running throughout them.

This visit is about 45 minutes after the last one. You can see what I mean abiout its looking old!
