This visitor to Box1 looks very smart. It certainly isn't Scruffy!
No bird has roosted in the box since Sunday 3rd March. However, we keep a watch out for this as I expect at some stage it will roost again.
Judging by the mess that had been left in the box, our rooster was a male!
This time, it does all the normal things - has a good look around ...
... pecks a bit at the walls ...
... and even flies up to the top to have a look at the camera!
One last look around before it leaves the nest box.
But what's this? Our nest boxes aren't typical coal tit nesting places, but here is a coal tit have a good look at Box2!
It actually goes into the nest box and if you look carefully, you can see its partner in the bottom right hand corner of the image. I wonder whether anything will come of that visit. If it did, it would be a first for our boxes!
