This is Max bringing some food for Meg.
This is Max bringing some food for Meg.
What's about to happen here? You can just see Meg through the hole in the nest box just as Max is coming with another feed.
No problem. He just lands on the entrance and feeds Meg there!
Eight lovely eggs. I hope they all hatch!
Clearly there is something outside the nest box that is upsetting Meg. See how she is holding a wing over the eggs to protect them.
This looks like another bluetit - clearly not Max, though I'm not sure how she can tell. Presumably Max makes a call approaching the box and a foreign bird doesn't. Or perhaps it is just that Max wouldn't land on the roof of the box at this stage.
Max is feeding Meg again. Because there are so many images to look through, I'm sure I am missing lots of examples of such behaviour. However, once there are chicks to feed, Max will be kept far busier!
And another feed.
This is Max flying away from the nest box after feeding Meg.
And this is Meg trying to go to sleep shortly before the lights turn off at about 6.35pm.
