Another nice day. Today Fred has been showing what an excellent partner he is. We caught many examples of his feeding Fantail, three of which are shown below.
When we turned on first thing, well about 7.30am, hoping for an egg, Fluffy's box was empty but Fantail was still there. Had Fantail laid an egg? Fantail was in no hurry to leave and we were quite hopeful that this was for a reason, but when she eventually left the nest it was empty. We'll have to wait another day.
Fantail brings in some fine stuff .. .. this was the biggest of several feathers.
We could see from the flickering shadows in the nest box that Fred was hanging about outside. Eventually he went in and immediately she followed - so as usual Fred promptly left!
Fred has a good look around, but Fantail does not give him long....
..before sending him for provisions.
