Bluetit Diary    Apr 2004 (20)

Thursday 15th April, 2004

I got up early today to go out for a walk around Papercourt and the River Wey with the local RSPB group so Fluffy got a bit of a surprise when I switched on at 6.40am!

She was fussing around in the nest, but generally not moving off it and I was beginning to think that she might have laid her first egg when she moved off the nest cup and left the box.

This was the view 17 minutes later.  No sign of an egg here!

Still, Fantail provided more interest again today - or rather Neptune did!

Here he feeds Fantail again.  He clearly thinks that she should be incubating and not just messing about.

Twenty minutes later he brings food to Fantail again.

This time it looks like a mealworm that we often put out for the robins and bluetits.

If she doesn't watch out, Fantail will be laying her eggs on bare boards!
