Bluetit Diary    Apr 2004 (7)

Wednesday 7th April, 2004

Fantail has been pretty active today.  She's bringing in lots of hay and dry grass.

Then she does a nesting wriggle - two winged variety you will have noticed!

More dry grass - at the moment she is coming in continually, far more often than shown here.

This time it's some moss.

She's still preoccupied with this spot on the nest box wall.

I don't think that it is anything more that a small splinter of wood that sticks out from the wall of the box.  However, Fantail worries away at it as though removing it was the most important thing in her life!

It's now mid afternoon and she's still at it.  However, the box looks almost the same as it did in the picture two above which was taken at half past eight this morning!

As she leaves the box for the last time today, you can see that she doesn't seem to have made much difference to the amount of nesting material!
