Fluffy gave me a scare today. She started the day with a flurry of activity first thing - and then there was a gap. Barney did his best to coax her back to work - by hanging onto the nest box hole and calling to her - but to no avail.
He even went inside the box for a period, but that was no use either - so he left.
Of course, three minutes later, Fluffy breezes along and carries on as usual as if nothing was the matter.
During the next ¾hr she went into the box 11 times, often bringing some more nesting material - and equally often removing some!
Business as usual.
She then had a half hour break before getting down to work again.
Again, she seemed to take out as much as she brought in.
We think she's fluffy inside her head as well as on the outside!
Elizabeth suggests that she is taking the bedding out for an airing as she often seems to bring it back again a short while later!
I'm not sure that she's clever enough for that!!
