Some of the chicks are clearly eager to leave the nest. At 6.22am a chick looks out again - but that's all it did!
Will today be F for Fledge day?
Two and a half hours later, all six chicks are still in the nest box.
They seem to be waiting for the next feed!
At odd times during the morning, one of the chicks would have a look out but their courage always seemed to fail them.
Just before half past twelve, there was another face at the entrance hole. Again this came to nothing.
At 12.39 dad came in to give them a good talking to.
"It's iron rations from now on until you are outside!" he seems to say.
All the chicks seem to want is more food.
This seemed to get things going and while he was still in the box one of the chicks jumped up onto the exit hole ...
... and has another look out.
"Hey - get on with it - you're blocking my way out!"
Will he - or won't he?
