So the bluetit hasn't completely given up on occupying Box1 then. Let's hope for his sake that he gets out before the great tit returns.
He didn't stay long!
In reality, it was over half an hour later before a great tit came to have a look at Box1.

Business as usual. Great tit inside, bluetit outside ...
... and great tit saying "Keep out" as birds do in this type of situation.
It's only just after 2pm but this great tit looks as though it's preparing to roost! It is preening itself and it has started fluffing its feathers up as roosting birds do when it is cold to help keep themselves warm
What actually happened is that it changed its mind and flew off. Apart from the one time over the night of 25th February, the nest box has not been roosted in.
