An early morning feed showing 9 gapes - where is our tenth chick?

Here is a very precocious chick having a good wing flapping session.  A single still doesn't do justice to the effort he put into it!

Ken is still looking after Freda properly.  Here he is feeding her yet another green caterpillar!

Sally has finally twigged that there are mealworms to be had for her to feed to the chicks.  We have been keeping the mealworm feeder topped up with both minis and full sized mealworms in the hope that she would discover it but until now, she and Joe had not made use of it.

This looks like one of the full sized mealworms.  Let's hope the chicks are now mature enough to cope with them.

Another wing flapping session.  I wonder whether it is by the same chick as last time?

It is interesting to see that this chicks wings are now developing wing feathers.

More wing flapping.

We were interested to see whether Sally was still sitting on the chicks during the night time.  We therefore decided to switch the cameras on for a few seconds late in the evening in order to have a look.

From this picture, taken at about twenty to eleven, she clearly is!
