Great tits have been more apparent today with a couple (or perhaps the same one twice) investigating our boxes.
This one is investigating Box1. Little does it realise that the hole on this box is smaller again this year! We have decided that bluetits are more interesting birds to watch while they bring up a brood.
Here's another having a look at Box3. I thought that having got this far, he might go in but no such luck. He obviously had cold feet at the last minute.
At least the hole is bigger here. He should have no trouble passing through it should he have another go.
Half an hour later, it's the bluetit's turn.
Now there's a bluetit at Box1 - there's obviously nothing like a nice day to get the birds excited!
He hops up to the roof ...
... and then back to the hole.
