Box2 has been getting most of the attention so far this season.  Today we have another first in this box!

It is about ten to nine in the morning and we have a bird on the entrance to Box2.

It looks as though he is going inside.

No - not yet!  He appears to be looking around for something - for his partner perhaps?

At last after what seems ages, but is in fact less than 20 seconds, he goes inside.

Well, it is still the same old box inside!

Twenty seconds later, he's off again ...

... but a few moments later, he is back again.

He spends an age fussing around at the entrance and is constantly looking back for his partner.

For a brief moment he even leaves the entrance hole ...

... but immediately returns and goes straight inside ...

... only to emerge again 20 seconds later.

This time, he doesn't fly off but swivels around as he leaves the box and stays on the entrance hole.

Now we have another bout of messing about on the entrance hole.  He is clearly hoping to entice the female inside and persuade her that this would be a good nesting place for them both.  He fidgets and keeps looking over his shoulder for her.  He is probably calling her too but unfortunately, we do not record the sound!
