Over the weekend I put Box3 up again. After the lack of success we had last year, I have reverted to the location I used in 2007 and 2008. Already a bluetit is looking at it!
In spite of the bad weather and the fact that the box was only put back yesterday, a bluetit has made several visits to Box3.
When I took it down to clean it, Box3 was showing signs of having been used, perhaps to roost in.
Towards the bottom of the picture shown on the left, you can see some stains on the floor of the box where I had to remove a birds droppings. Is this why a bluetit is taking an interest so quickly?
The outside camera is located a bit further from the entrance of the box than it was last year. However, this does have the advantage that we should get more photos like this one!
