Today, the first box has gone up. Box2 has been cleaned out and remounted successfully.
So it's the start of another season for our Bluetit Diary - a bit earlier than usual I think. I wonder what will happen this year.

Box1 is now up. Straight away a bluetit came to investigate.
Now it's a great tit's turn to have a look - and that reminds me, I haven't replaced the plate over the entrance hole that reduces the size to 28mm. This allows bluetits to get in easily but the local great tits appear to find it too small for comfort.

it's been up for a couple of weeks, so far Box2 seems to have been ignored. However, at last a bluetit appears to be taking an interest in it.
Birds must be like busses - there are none for ages and then several come along at once! Less than an hour after the bluetit, a great tit came to check us out.
I think he'd find the size of the entrance hole a little uncomfortable!
