Bluetit Diary    May 2012 (17)

Sunday 20th May 2012

Both parents feeding the chicks in Box2 at the same time - it must be the time we put out some mealworms!

There are only two gapes here in Box1, but all three chicks are still doing well.

Its now a minute later and you can see that the excitement of the mealworms has been too much for the chicks - or perhaps they are all full!

More wing flapping in Box2.

I hope the chicks are watching out - the woodpecker is back!

Again, no harm is done and he goes away empty beaked!

In Box2, it has now been 19 days since the first chick hatched out.  These chicks could fledge at any time now.

More wing flapping excercises.

The chicks in Box1 are also coming along nicely.

They should be.  There ore only three of them and they have the full attention of both parents!

Peace in Box2 at the end of another day.

Surely they will fledge tomorrow?
