It is now mid morning, and the great tit is back.

He goes for a closer look ...

... but again, he doesn't go inside

Whether he was watching, or it was just a coincidence, but two minutes later the scruffy bluetit pays a visit.

At least he goes inside the box!

Though he never seems to do anything when he gets there.

This time he did spend a little while looking out of the hole ...

... but then he just flies off again.

Here's a last shot of Ella's nest. Progress is still being made.

Here's the great tit paying another visit to Box2. Will he attempt to go into the box this time?

He leans forward and peers into the box.

Then he flies dowwn onto the entrance - but then he just flies off again.

Now it's Scruffy's turn to call.

At least he doesn't prevaricate, hanging around on the entrance hole - in he goes!

However, as usual, once inside he doesn't seem to do anything but just glumly stares ahead. Most visitors actively look around, peck at the corners or at the holes in the floor of the box. Scruffy just stays still.

This is another visit from the smart bluetit. One of these visitors must surely do something soon! Perhaps they all lack a partner? (Though that isn't true of the great tit who has visited with a partner a couple of times.)

Back at Box1, Ernie is still taking a keen interest in what Ella is up to.

Perhaps he should try bring Ella some food to reward her for all her hard work!

There has been a small but noticeable change in Ella's nest today.  Keep it up, Ella!
