It looks as though a great tit is still interested in Box2.
It looks as though a great tit is still interested in Box2.
After a few seconds, it flies down to the entrance and looks inside. It doesn't go into the box though.
We start today's entry with a few attractive pictures of Ella. Here is Ella leaving the nest box.
And again!
Here she is returning ...
... and this is the state of her nest.
You can see the big wodge of moss she has in her beak.
After throwing it on the floor as usual, she does a nesting wriggle.
She doesn't stay long - this is only 20 seconds later!
After another 15 minutes she is back with more moss.
Now which bird is this on the entrance hole?
Ella doesn't look particularly anxious, so I presume it is Ernie.
She is relaxed enough to gaze up to the roof of the box. Perhaps Ernie has moved onto the roof of the box.
Then she hops up to the entrance hole. The bird outside appears to have flown off.
