Saturday 7th April, 2007

Fay's nest has come on a lot today - even Morgan has been impressed!

This is the state of Fay's nest this morning.  I nearly said early this morning but a quarter to ten is hardly early for Fay!

At the moment, it seems that hay is the stuff to bring in.

Now it's green moss again ...

... and now some more hay.

The pink fluff phenomenon strikes again!  Where does she get it from?  Each year since 2004 (or perhaps even earlier - I haven't looked further back than that) one of our birds has found a source of pink fluffy material when she has been finishing her nest.

White stuff this time.

More pink fluff.

What's this?  Fay seems to have caught Morgan having a look to see what stage in the nest building process Fay has got to.  It's good to see him taking an interest!

Now Fay has found some feathers.  They look too nice to be some of the ones that Elizabeth spread over the lawn at the back of the house!

More feathers!

Wow - a monster feather this time!

Another large feather.

Fay has clearly made a big difference to her nest today.  I wonder if she feels the urge to lay an egg coming on?
