What's this? Is this the start of nest building?
That's a fine bunch of hay you have there!
What are you going to do with that then?
With a flick of the head, she (only the female builds the nest!) threw the hay across the floor of the nest box.
This and the previous two pictures were taken within one second and show the usual method of distributing nesting material at the start of nest building.
An hour later, she is back with another bunch of hay.
Getting in the box with so much hay is a bit of a struggle!
You can see why it was difficult - that's an enormous bunch of hay!
Again - it is strewn across the nest box floor by a flick of the head.
