What's happening in Box1?
This is Fay going into the box.
Here she is inside.
What's up - she looks concerned about something.
It looks as though she can hear something outside.
But what is it?
Ah! A male bluetit outside. This must be Bill.
He certainly looks in a male mood - his head feathers are all on end. Perhaps he has designs on Fay?
The patterning on Bill's facial feathers looks quite unusual. That's good as far as we are concerned as it makes it easier to recognise him.
The blue and white patches on his head look quite mixed up.
We're not quite sure what Fay is expecting.
Whatever it was doesn't happen as Bill takes off ...
... and leaves the nest box.
"What's keeping him?"
Here it looks as though Fay is calling to him.
Bill's back!
Here you can see from the front what an odd set of facial feathers Bill has.
Bill's gone again!
Is Fay disappointed?
Thirty seconds later, Fay leaves the nest box.
Whatever she was expecting didn't happen!
Off she goes!
